Parks Maintenance Temporary Positions

These positions allow you to support our parks and natural areas, which are essential for the wellbeing of our community and wildlife. Available Positions:

• Horticultural Attendant ($16.75$23.75/hour) (Approximately AprilOctober)
• Idlewild Train Operator ($16.75$23.75/hour) (Approximately MaySeptember)
• Park Maintenance Helper ($16.75$23.75/hour) (Available year-round)

Examples of Essential Functions

Horticultural Attendant:

• Water hanging baskets, planting, weeding in an outdoor environment.
• Gather and remove garbage and litter from grounds and facilities.

Idlewild Train Operator:

• Operate and perform basic service of the children's train and related equipment.

Park Maintenance Helper:

• Perform a variety of maintenance and repair functions at City parks and related facilities including janitorial maintenance, turf maintenance, landscaping and general groundskeeping duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Horticultural Attendant:

• Age: 18
• Experience: One year of paid work experience in similar work
• Required Certifications: Valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent

Idlewild Train Operator:

• Age: 18
• Experience: One year of paid work experience in similar work
• Required Certifications: Valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent

Park Maintenance Helper:

• Age: 18
• Experience: One year of paid work experience in similar work
• Required Certifications: Valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent
