The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state, national, and international levels. ASUN is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Campus & Public Relations.
Responsibilities include acting as the Director of Campus and Public Relations in the Director's absence or at the Director's request, developing departmental strategic plans and objectives, increasing the visibility of the Association in greater campus, local, state and national communities, producing multimedia-content to release weekly updates to the students about ASUN, updating and providing content for the ASUN website, attending all ASUN retreats and trainings, and other duties as called upon by the position.
Required qualifications include being enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno, maintaining a 2.00 GPA and being enrolled in at least 7 credits, performing all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents, upholding the Nevada Student Code of Conduct, meeting all deadlines, attending all required meetings and training, working scheduled hours, properly completing and submitting HR paperwork on time, assisting in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada, behaving in a manner that is ethical, maintaining a high level of integrity, and other duties as called upon by the position.
Preferred qualifications include experience in fields such as marketing, journalism, communication studies, and/or related fields through course of study, previous work experience, or extracurricular activities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, motivation to further the goals and initiatives under the Impact Nevada platform, ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse people and communities, excellent organization and project management skills in a team-based environment with multiple projects, flexibility and adaptability within role; ability to time manage and prioritize tasks.
Compensation is Student Employee Level 1 $3,000 distributed evenly over a 12-month period in a single-term.
