Must have a valid driver's license and ability to rent vehicles.Job SummaryThe Commissioning Field Technician II is an entry-level role that builds upon foundational commissioning knowledge while introducing more independent troubleshooting, testing, and reporting responsibilities. This role provides technical support in the inspection, validation, and functional testing of electrical, mechanical, and control systems. The technician will develop a deeper understanding of commissioning procedures, engage with vendors and project teams, and rely on instructions to take ownership of specific testing tasks under immediate supervision. They are expected to demonstrate increasing autonomy, problem-solving skills, and initiative in executing commissioning tasks.Essential FunctionsPerform On-site Inspection, Validation, Testing and Verification of Electrical and Mechanical Equipment (50%)Participate in factory witness testingObserve startup activitiesUse technical equipment to perform testingPerform functional testing of equipment and electrical, mechanical and controls systemsTroubleshoot system componentsDevelop Testing Plans and Procedures (20%)Assist in the development of commissioning plansPrepare pre-functional checklistsPrepare functional performance test scriptsReview Construction Related Design Documents, Drawings and Specifications (15%)Review shop drawings and submittalsReview sequence of operationsAssist in commissioning focused design reviewsReporting (10%)Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholdersAssist in preparation and contributes to final commissioning reportManage personal hours using company toolsTechnology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency (5%)Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, seeking out new technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance.Adapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows, actively supporting the integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.Position RequirementsKnowledge of electrical, mechanical and controls system principlesSkilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file managementSkilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detailAbility to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovationAbility to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self‑motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction‑free workspaceAbility to follow company and site safety requirementsAbility to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondenceAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non‑technical information)Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with supervisionAbility to work under pressure and meet close deadlinesAbility to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as / if requiredOrganizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyPhysical DemandsThe following physical demands must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
