Role Summary

The Owner's Representative / Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing execution, coordination, and reporting of active construction projects. This role acts as the primary point of accountability between ownership, general contractors, trade partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects remain aligned with schedule, cost, safety, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Schedule Management

  • Manage and track project schedules, milestones, and critical path activities
  • Coordinate contractor mobilization, sequencing, and execution across multiple scopes
  • Identify schedule risks early and drive corrective actions to maintain timelines

Weekly Reporting & Owner Communication

  • Prepare and distribute weekly construction reports including:
  • Labor hours and workforce counts
  • Work completed vs. planned
  • Safety performance and safety messaging
  • Risks, issues, and mitigation actions
  • Weather impacts and schedule effects
  • Present clear, executive-level summaries suitable for ownership review

Cost & Change Oversight

  • Track planned vs. actual work execution and labor utilization
  • Support change management by documenting scope, cost, and schedule impacts
  • Coordinate expense tracking and reconciliation tied to active projects

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce site-wide safety compliance across all contractors and vendors
  • Review and track safety submittals, training documentation, and site access requirements
  • Support weekly safety meetings and hazard identification efforts

Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary interface between ownership, general contractors, and trade partners
  • Drive follow-up on contractor deliverables and readiness prior to site work
  • Resolve coordination issues and maintain alignment across all parties

Documentation & Technical Review

  • Review construction documents, scopes of work, and technical specifications
  • Maintain organized project records for reporting, audits, and executive review

Risk Management

  • Identify and document project risks related to schedule, safety, cost, or execution
  • Assign ownership and mitigation plans for identified risks
  • Escalate issues with recommended solutions when necessary
