Digital Content Producer

Administrative Faculty, Non Tenure Track, Benefits Eligible

Serves as the primary administrator and content manager for the Western Nevada College website and associated digital platforms (including subsites, portals, social media, and other online activities). Performs essential strategic, programming, and web design functions to ensure the College's website and online presence advance the College's communications, marketing, and PR objectives. Measures the effectiveness of the College's online presence and other digital initiatives.

Job Duties

Website Content Administration, Optimization & Governance

  • Serve as primary website administrator responsible for maintaining and updating content across all WNC websites and subsites.
  • Manage a structured web content intake process; coordinate requests, determine priority, and ensure timely completion in alignment with College communication goals.
  • Review, approve, and publish user-initiated updates; train internal users to update and maintain departmental subsites.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks prior to publishing (accuracy, functionality, formatting consistency, accessibility, and brand alignment).
  • Create and maintain web content standards, documentation, templates, and procedures to support consistency and efficiency.

Website Performance Analytics, SEO, UX & Accessibility Compliance

  • Continually monitor, develop best practices for, and report monthly to the Marketing Manager on SEO, UX, accessibility optimization, and other relevant web metrics to enhance wnc.edu and associated digital initiatives.
  • Analyze web and digital performance data and provide actionable recommendations to improve engagement and support enrollment.
  • Coordinate accessibility best practices and remediation efforts (ADA/WCAG-aligned), ensuring web publishing supports accessibility standards.

Web Design, Themes, Branding, and Digital Assets

  • Design, develop, integrate, and implement engaging and properly branded themes for WNC websites and digital initiatives.
  • Create, maintain, and update branded templates and assets for college-wide usage to ensure consistency across digital and print communications.
  • Design branded graphics for online, social media, and print campaigns as requested by the Marketing Manager.

Social Media Coordination & Digital Communications

  • Coordinate social media for all WNC accounts with consistent, engaging and properly branded postings, activities, and campaigns.
  • Coordinate internal email communications as required and requested.
  • Support Marketing Manager with emergency-related communications as requested.

Video, Photography, Streaming & Event Media Support

  • Coordinate production of regular video content (e.g., student testimonials) to support campaigns and events; film, script/stage interviews, and edit video content.
  • Serve as the College's primary coordinator of videography and photography for major events and activities; coordinate subcontracted/student photographers and videographers with input/direction from the Marketing Manager.
  • Provide support and training for live video streaming on a variety of platforms.

Digital Signage, Calendars & Project Support

  • Maintain College digital signage; create content as requested, provide training on signage software, and coordinate setup/installation of new digital signage.
  • Maintain College events calendar to capture key dates and student activities.
  • Design and develop special projects, presentations, and digital content as assigned.

Vendor Coordination & Technical Support

  • Provide ongoing front-end support for web applications and relevant software; coordinate with DCT (Digital, Computing and Tech) to ensure technical integrity, reliability, and functionality of the website and related platforms.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors at the direction of the Marketing Manager to support and facilitate marketing strategies, integrations, and web-related updates.

Committees & Other Duties

  • Contribute to committees and cross-functional teams with a focus on collaboration that supports enrollment through effective website practices, strategies, and tactics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of related professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree (i.e., AA+4 yrs related professional experience). A minimum of an Associate's degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of various programming and scripting languages
  • Experience with video/audio editing software and design tools
  • Preferred experience in videography, digital photography, and audiovisual live streaming

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic technical knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience using a Content Management System (CMS), preferably Modern Campus
  • Ability to read, analyze, and report on SEO status and performance trends to various departments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain accessible web content, including ADA/WCAG compliance and alignment with W3C standards
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work resourcefully within budget constraints, identify cost-effective solutions, and deliver high-quality digital/web outcomes under tight deadlines and limited resources.
  • Knowledge of current web design trends, UX concepts, and best practices
  • Ability to research, learn, and apply new technologies in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to independently prioritize work assignments and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of web services including secure data flow, information access, and client usability
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and related tools, including aggregate posting tools and analytics tools
  • Experience working in a marketing environment with a high level of service to campus clients
  • Ability to be creative and innovative in developing effective approaches to engaging communities
  • Experience managing institutional or education websites and associated social media platforms
  • Ability to coordinate work across departments and with external partners, including third-party vendors and internal technical teams
  • Ability to document procedures and policies in detail

Minimum Starting Salary Information:

This position is at a salary grade C. The minimum of the placement range is $73,531.55. The selected candidate will be placed at or above the minimum based on education and experience. WNC's placement range falls within the NSHE salary schedule.

All faculty and professional staff working at least half-time equivalent must participate in the NSHE Faculty Retirement Plan Alternative (RPA) as a condition of employment. The current contribution rate is 19.25%. Your contribution is matched by the College at 19.25%.

Faculty and staff who have previously participated in the Public Employees' Retirement System of Nevada (PERS) may be required to continue participation in PERS.

The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) does not participate in the federal Social Security System but does contribute to the federal Medicare program. This means that while you are employed by NSHE neither you nor NSHE contribute to Social Security and you do not earn a Social Security benefit.
