The Safety & Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for colleagues, guests, and property assets during overnight hours. This role conducts regular patrols, responds to incidents, enforces property policies, provides excellent guest service, and supports emergency response procedures in accordance with Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the resort to deter theft, vandalism, unsafe conditions, and policy violations.
• Respond promptly to guest and colleague incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and safety-related calls.
• Document all security events, investigations, and daily activities in detailed written reports.
• Monitor access control points, alarms, and surveillance systems, report irregularities immediately.
• Support lost-and-found procedures; maintain accurate logs and secure storage.
• Enforce resort policies professionally and calmly, maintaining positive guest interactions.
• Assist with emergency evacuations, first aid response, and coordination with local authorities as needed.
• Conduct safety inspections including fire extinguishers, exit pathways, locking mechanisms, and hazard checks.
• Support overnight operational needs, including welfare checks, colleague escorts, and departmental assistance.
• Protect confidentiality of guest and colleague information at all times.
