We are seeking a compassionate Hospice Spiritual Care Provider who will deliver non-denominational spiritual and emotional support to patients and families during their end-of-life journeys. As a crucial member of our interdisciplinary team, you will ensure no one walks this path alone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide spiritual and emotional support aligned with the beliefs and values of patients, families, and caregivers.

  • Deliver inclusive care that honors all faiths, spiritual traditions, and cultural backgrounds.

  • Collaborate as a vital part of the interdisciplinary team, participating in patient care conferences with nurses, social workers, aides, and medical staff.

  • Evaluate the spiritual needs of patients and families, formulating personalized spiritual care plans.

  • Conduct visits, prayers, blessings, and rituals as requested by patients or their families.

  • Support families during moments of grief, loss, or transitions, offering bereavement counseling and assistance.

  • Establish connections with local faith leaders and community resources to meet patients' and families' spiritual needs.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of spiritual assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in theology, religion, human services, counseling, psychology, or sociology (or as required by state regulations)
  • Completion of at least one unit of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)

Note: Degrees from accredited institutions are preferred. Approval from AVPO is required for degrees from non-accredited colleges or universities prior to hiring.

Compensation may vary within the salary range based on several factors including location, experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, and department equity. Gentiva offers a total rewards package where base pay is one piece.

Salary Range - $26.00/hour - $32.00/hour
