As a special agent, you will engage in exciting and impactful work throughout your career, including:

  • Providing protection for various protectees.
  • Conducting important criminal investigations related to the financial obligations of the United States.
  • Planning and executing security measures for National Special Security Events.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Hold a current valid driver's license.
  • Capable of carrying and utilizing a firearm with mandatory proficiency.
  • Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application and under 37 when you receive a conditional offer, unless qualifying for an age exemption based on previous federal law enforcement service.
  • Must obtain and retain a Top Secret Clearance throughout your career.
  • Uncorrected visual acuity must be no worse than 20/100 binocular, and corrected visual acuity must be 20/20 or better in each eye.
  • Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in either ear in specified frequency ranges.
  • Submit to a drug test prior to appointment and comply with random drug testing during employment.
  • Complete 13 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA, followed by 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
  • Willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the United States and abroad as part of a mobility agreement.
  • Certification of registration with the Selective Service System is required, if applicable.
