At Tancell Care, we provide compassionate support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities in Southern and Northern Nevada. Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve community inclusion, independence, and productivity through meaningful employment and skill development.

We are now hiring for caring and dedicated Part Time and PRN/On call Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in our Reno location who will work with individuals at our new Jobs and Day Training facility. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference while developing essential skills in a rewarding field.

Work Schedules: Part Time 5 hours shift or PRN/ONCALL (As needed)

  • Monday - Friday 7:15 am - 12:15 pm (25 hours a week)
  • Monday - Friday 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm (25 hours/week)

A Day in the Life of a DSP:

As a DSP, you'll be an integral part of our mission. You'll have the unique opportunity to interact with individuals, helping them build skills that lead to greater independence and community inclusion. Here's what you can expect as you thrive in your role and make a lasting impact on others:
  • Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities by implementing personalized support plans
  • Teach essential skills like job readiness, social skills, and community engagement
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment while ensuring cleanliness and following safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and service coordinators to ensure each individual's needs are met
  • Complete documentation, including incident reports, and assist with goal-setting assessments
Requirements

What We're Looking For:

We want individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact. To be successful, you'll need:
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) required
  • Previous experience in training, habilitation, or development of individuals with IDD is preferred
  • Bonus points for knowledge and skills in any of the following:
    • Clerical: Familiarity with office tasks, such as data entry, organizing files, and using computers for administrative functions.
    • Technology: Experience with computers, tablets, and basic IT tools.
    • Hospitality: Knowledge of customer service practices, food preparation, or event coordination.
    • Creative Workshop: Interest or experience in arts, crafts, woodworking, or graphic design.
    • Day Habilitation: Background in social or life skills training, community planning, or recreational activities.
