As a Production Technician specializing in board level soldering, you may also be using your skills and expertise to perform a variety of our production assembly operation tasks on electronic and mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies such as modules, panels, drawers, frames, cables and harnesses while working from diagrams and written instructions. You will be responsible for building new assemblies and occasionally disassembling, modifying, reworking and reassembling experimental or prototype assemblies. You will make continuity checks and quality inspections on your own in-process and completed work. Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical/electrical assembly from engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and other production documentation.
• Ability to interpret and work from drawings, manuals, handbooks, and technical specifications.
• Ability to terminate various coaxial, circular, and D-type connectors.
• Install and integrate wiring, and termination in accordance with system requirements and IPC standards.
• Perform simple tests such as continuity checks.
• Work with printed circuit boards (PCB) and other assemblies following detailed instructions accurately and consistently.
• Have good hand eye coordination and be able to use a variety of standard hand tools including crimpers and soldering irons.
• Inspect assembly work for self and other team members per appropriate standards.
• Work with engineers to identify issues with new products and improve them.
• Knowledge of proper ESD controls.
• Must be detail and quality oriented and have a good sense of self-discipline.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications and manufacturing principles
• Experience in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment
• Prior experience with electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
• Computer literate with experience in Windows and Office products, and ability to learn new specialized in-house applications as required.
• Basic skills in assembly, soldering, and connectors
• Ability to take instruction and work side-by-side with advanced technicians to learn new skills.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• IPC J-STD-001 and 620 certifications.
• Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education and certifications.
• Circuit card assembly work with both surface mount and through-hole parts.
• Electronic component identification knowledge.
• OSHA 10-Hour Training certification.
• Experience with PPE (personal protection equipment).
• Able to work in an organized, clean work environment to 5S standards.
• Military electronic assembly background.
• Background in the aerospace or defense industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
