Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the mechanical scope of a large-scale data center project in Reno, Nevada through January 2027. This role will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and fire protection, ensuring they meet project specifications, schedule, and budget. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in mechanical construction management, preferably on mission-critical or semiconductor/data center projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all mechanical aspects of the data center construction project, including HVAC, piping, and fire suppression systems.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and work plans to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
• Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and design teams to ensure seamless execution of mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Conduct regular site visits, monitor installation quality, and resolve technical and logistical challenges.
• Review mechanical design documents and identify potential constructability issues.
• Manage procurement of mechanical equipment and materials, ensuring timely delivery.
• Lead project meetings and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other disciplines (electrical, structural, etc.) to ensure integrated project execution.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical construction, with at least 3 years managing large-scale projects.
  • Experience working on data center, semiconductor, or mission-critical projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems in large commercial or industrial projects.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Strong understanding of MEP coordination, BIM, and commissioning processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and ensure work is completed to high-quality standards.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
