Sierra Executive Solutions, Inc. (SES) is a 3rd party search firm recruiting for a Sparks, NV construction client company's Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager.

Job Summary:

SES' construction client company is seeking an experienced Heavy Construction Civil Engineer Project Manager to oversee and execute infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects in the Reno, Nevada area. This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and on-site management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities and technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Management:

• Oversee all phases of heavy civil construction projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to maintain project progress and address challenges proactively.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory and safety requirements, including local, state, and federal guidelines.

Engineering & Technical Leadership:

• Review and interpret engineering designs, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct site inspections to assess project progress, quality control, and safety compliance.
• Identify and resolve engineering and construction issues as they arise.

Financial & Contract Management:

• Prepare cost estimates, bid proposals, and budget forecasts for projects.
• Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring financial performance aligns with company objectives.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms.

Team Leadership & Communication:

• Supervise project teams, including engineers, superintendents, and field personnel, to ensure effective performance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within the construction team.

Risk Management & Safety Compliance:

• Implement safety programs and conduct risk assessments to prevent accidents and project delays.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Develop and enforce best practices to enhance operational efficiency and minimize risks.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in heavy civil construction project management.
• Experience in tilt-up structural concrete is required.
• Proven experience in infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, and site development.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
