Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing semi-trailers. We offer in-house advanced-training opportunities - we are one of only three dealer groups in North America that is certified to conduct all Mack/Volvo training up to the master tech certification within our in-house Training Centers. We cover travel costs for our technicians to attend training. We also offer a family-oriented work environment.

Sign on bonus of up to $5,000 available depending upon experience/skill level



Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and repair vehicle to proper operating condition
  • Perform advanced repairs and replace major components such as radiators, valve adjustments, and turbos
  • Rebuild or repair major components such as transmissions, gear plates and block reconditioning
  • Perform entire engine overhauls including replacing heads, rods and main bearings
  • Troubleshoot and perform complex wiring repairs and diagnose and repair any electronic issues
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance services. Identify worn and damaged parts all parts to include major components, repairing, adjusting, or replacing as needed
  • Maintain safe and organized work area
  • Ability to be on task to meet shop quality and efficiency standards
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Follow all state and federal vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards; follow company policies, procedures, and safety and EPA regulations
  • Must use all safety equipment necessary for the job
  • Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems


Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of practical experience working on trailers
  • Must have own hand tools
  • High expertise in troubleshooting using diagnostic software
  • Proficient computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic software
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job (job requires frequent lifting/moving up to 50lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, hearing, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work in a safe and alert manner
  • Valid driver's license and able to meet insurance requirements. CDL license preferred but not required


Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $20.58 to $25.72.
