Description:

A day in the life of a General Manager might look like:

  • Hire and train restaurant staff
  • Organize, oversee, and communicate staff schedules
  • Oversee food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards
  • Work with owners and back of house on implementing and launching new menu items as well as educating Front of House staff on menu and beverage offerings
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience
  • Support matters involving customer complaints when warranted and monitor customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations
  • Ensure food and beverage orders are being made in a timely manner
  • Audit food and beverage inventory systems
  • Conduct inspections of restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Serve as a liaison for all restaurant staff regarding questions or concerns
  • Manage and motivate employees through constant communication and regular team meetings
  • Create procedures and strategies
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policies
  • Lead pre-shift meetings
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures and processes to ensure up to standards
  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate for this position has the following qualities:

  • Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in the Food and Beverage industry
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Physical requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds regularly
  • Must be able to stay on feet for prolonged periods of time
